Warmly Congratulate Associate Professor Chu Daoliang for winning the 5th "Youth Prize in Paleontology" by Paleontological Society of China

  On May 25, at the opening ceremony of the 30th Annual Academic Meeting of PSC ( Paleontological Society of China), Associate Professor Chu Daoliang from the State Key Laboratory of Biogeology and Environmental Geology, CUG was awarded the "5th Youth Prize in Paleontology" by PSC.

  Associate professor Chu Daoliang is mainly engaged in the research on the continental Permian- Triassic boundary stratigraphic sequence, biological and environmental events, the Permian- Triassic interlobar fossil taxonomy and biostratigraphy, the establishment of the early Mesozoic terrestrial ecosystem, the coordinated evolution process between the continental Mid-Late Triassic organisms and environment, paleoclimate reconstruction, big data and computational simulation of geobiology, etc. He has published more than 40 papers in such journals as Natue Communications, Geology, Geological Journal, Global and Planetary Change. Recently, his achievements on atmospheric CO2 concentration rise and terrestrial ecosystem disturbance at the turn between Paleozoic and Mesozoic was listed as "China's Top 10 Progress in Paleontology in 2021".

  The Youth Prize in Paleontology awarded by PSC aims to commend and inspire young talents who have made outstanding Sci-Tech innovation in paleontological researches, and encourage more young science and technology workers in paleontology to forge ahead. This time, totally 6 young scholars won this prize.
