Recently, Paleontological Society of China (PSC) released the list of China's top 10 progress in  paleontology in 2021. The results by Academician Xie Shucheng's research team: "Reconstruction and tracing of paleontological lipids to different paleoclimatic factors", and the results by Professor Tong Jinnan's research team: Increase of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration and disturbance of terrestrial ecosystem at the turn between Paleozoic and Mesozoic" were selected into this list at the same time.
